Our Story

Modal Music Studio was dreamed up by founders Chris Bauer and Dan Mudge in June 2020 and launched in July 2020. Chris and Dan first met in 2017 while teaching music and by 2019 they were even performing in a band together. Not only did they want to provide the best music lessons possible, they wanted to create a family vibe with Modal. Incredible support from their students, their families and the community flowed in and by October of 2020 Modal Music Studio was able to open up its Main Street, Warrenton location! The support further continued as they won the Fauquier Times Reader’s Choice Award for Best Music Lessons in 2020, and every year since! Also, the first time this category has been offered, Modal has won Best Music Instructors by Fauquier Now Warrenton Lifestyle magazine!
